Education

My father cultivated in me a thirst for knowledge at a young age and I allowed my curiosity to guide my life path. This led to diversified education and experiences, bringing unique perspectives toward dentistry. Fascinated towards science and healing of the human body, I started my journey studying Biochemistry at the University of Windsor. The curiosity for exploring my entrepreneurial and creative side led me to pursue a Masters of Business at the Odette School of Business. Combining the two, and recognizing the importance of the mouth as the gateway to overall health, led me to Dentistry at the University of Toronto Doctor of Dental Surgery. My focus has been expanding knowledge with training in Sleep Dentistry (e.g. Sleep Apnea), Prosthodontics (e.g. Dentures), Dental Nutrition, Digital Dentistry, and Minimal Invasive Treatment (e.g. Lasers).

Philosophy

The mouth is crucial to overall health as it is one of the gateways into the human body. It is a critical infrastructure that supports sleep, taste, nutrition, and speech. Most importantly, it supplies oxygen to your vital organs as the upper jaw bone forms the nasal passages and the lower jaw bone forms the lower airways. My practice philosophy is preventative education, functional dentistry (linking the brain, body, mouth, gut, and airway complex), and comprehensive customized care to fulfill individualistic needs and motivate patients to restore and maintain their oral and overall health. I believe in the power of self action. I love sharing knowledge so you feel inspired to build healthy habits. My hope is for you to become the master of your own health and for me to guide and support you.

I love to share my passion and knowledge of health and wellness to help individuals thrive in my local and dental community.

Additional Skills

For over 10 years, yoga became a lifestyle as it helped me find “balance” in handling life’s challenges from the academic world to the corporate world and to the dental world. This led me to become a Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher (200 hr YTC), Chromatic Level 1 Yoga Teacher, and Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra Facilitator, and explore other wellness modalities. I love to share what I have learned to help others thrive, founding the Dental Student Society Wellness Committee at the Faculty of Dentistry University of Toronto, providing yoga workshops to healthcare professionals, teaching yoga to my local community, and incorporating a holistic and compassionate approach to dentistry. These life paths have led me to dig deeper and identify the intimate connections of your craniofacial and body complex.

Everyone should have access to dental care; therefore, I am drawn to servicing remote areas to address dental accessibility challenges.

My philosophy is to empower patients with education to investigate and understand their dental health. By creating a comfortable and relaxing dental experience, individuals look forward to their dental visit, and are motivated to take better care of their oral health.

The mouth is extremely important as it is literally the gateway or opening into the human body. The bacterial flora in your mouth affects the health of your body, linking to illnesses such as Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes. Your teeth contribute to proper speech, nutrition, preservation of facial bone structure, and your psychological and overall wellness. I believe in preventative education and comprehensive customized care to fulfill individualistic needs and motivate patients to restore and maintain their oral health. I recognize the prevalence of dental anxiety and fear and hope to change that by creating a comfortable, calm, and caring experience so patients can look forward to their dental visit.
