Growing up, I was fortunate to have had an amazing dentist who shaped my perception of dentistry in a positive way. I realize there are many people who have fears and concerns around dental treatment, and I’d like to help change that. A smile is the first thing people notice, and I want my patients to wear their smile with confidence.
By taking time getting to know each of my patients and by doing a thorough assessment, I can tailor a comprehensive treatment & prevention plan matching their personal needs and lifestyles
My philosophy is to empower patients with education to investigate and understand their dental health. By creating a comfortable and relaxing dental experience, individuals look forward to their dental visit, and are motivated to take better care of their oral health.
The mouth is extremely important as it is literally the gateway or opening into the human body. The bacterial flora in your mouth affects the health of your body, linking to illnesses such as Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes. Your teeth contribute to proper speech, nutrition, preservation of facial bone structure, and your psychological and overall wellness. I believe in preventative education and comprehensive customized care to fulfill individualistic needs and motivate patients to restore and maintain their oral health. I recognize the prevalence of dental anxiety and fear and hope to change that by creating a comfortable, calm, and caring experience so patients can look forward to their dental visit.
I grew up in the small town of Westville, Nova Scotia and spent most of my time exploring the picturesque coastline and beaches with family and friends. My interest in healthcare led me to a rewarding career in dentistry and I could not be happier to have made the journey from coast to coast.
I take the time to understand each of my patient’s individualized needs and I strive to make each dental visit as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
I completed my 10 years of post-secondary education at Dalhousie University in beautiful Halifax, NS. Before studying dentistry, I studied both Mathematics and Dental Hygiene.
When I am not practicing dentistry, I can be found on the trails with my two dogs or out on the water with my paddle board. Being new to the Sunshine Coast, I am excited to get out and start exploring!
Staying involved in various dental associations allows me to stay current with rapidly advancing dental technology and learn from other skilled dental professionals.
To provide each patient with the knowledge they need to start prioritizing their own dental health. I emphasize the importance of being proactive and understanding the link between overall health.
